LUCAS BROWNE OPEN TO FUTURE MCKEAN CLASH
By Tom Watt on Oct 9 2017
This past weekend, Demsey McKean KO’d Will Nasio to secure the Australian Heavyweight Title, a belt formerly held by the likes of Alex Leapai and Lucas Browne - and McKean’s exploits haven’t gone unnoticed by arguable Australia’s biggest name in the division, Lucas ‘Big Daddy’ Browne:
“I’m happy to see someone like Demsey win the Aussie Title, especially as he has a background so similar to mine – coming up without an amateur background and some experience in kick-boxing and MMA.
He could definitely be a good domestic option for me in the future if he continues this ascent”
With Browne in the running to fight one or more of Hughie Fury, Dillian Whyte or Joseph Parker in 2018, it seems unlikely the 2 will be facing off any time soon but if McKean is able to maintain his current trajectory then it will surely not be too long before Aussie fans are clamouring for a big domestic clash between 2 currently undefeated fighters.
McKean has already stated he would like to defend the belt before the end of the year and there is already work going on behind the scenes to secure an exciting opponent.
