BILLY DIB TIPS QAMIL BALLA TO BEAT KAMBOSOS IN AUCKLAND THIS SATURDAY
There are few fighters in recent memory that have flown the flag for Australian Boxing as far and as high as Billy Dib, he has been involved in 7 World Title fights and made his pro debut over thirteen years ago. So, when the former 2-time World Champion speaks, it’s usually worth a listen, and the ever-popular featherweight believes that Saturday night’s co-main event in Auckland between George ‘Ferocious’ Kambosos and ‘Golden Boy’ Qamil Balla will be one well worth a watch for fans of the sweet science.
Dib was in Melbourne last week and dropped in on the ‘Golden Boy’ as he was finalising his preparations and even squeezed in a few rounds with him – rounds that Balla was more than happy to take.
“I can’t thank Billy enough, sparring with him was such a great experience”
Dib himself has had some strong words of support for Balla and when I caught up with him earlier today he feels that the Victoria-based fighter will be too big and too good for the outspoken Kambosos on Saturday night.
“Balla has a very unique style and I think Kambosos may underestimate his height and his reach – he’s very tall for a lightweight, he’s a big boy”
“I think it’s going to be a really good fight, I think Qamil has a real good chance and he’s confident so that’s a great sign”
“I just feel Qamil Balla is the better and more talented fighter and will be victorious on Saturday night”
Fight fans around Australia will be tuning in on Saturday night to see if Dib’s prediction will come true. With the fight having been moved from PPV to Fox Sports as a result of the late replacement in the Main Event, even more fans will be have the opportunity to see two of Australia’s top unbeaten prospects go to war in what could be a domestic fight-of-the-year contender and one not to be missed.
Kambosos v Balla is live on Fox Sports (channel 505) on the undercard of Joseph Park v Razvan Cojanu
