PACQUIAO HORN REMATCH COMING TO BRISBANE
By Tom Watt on Aug 21 2017
Earlier this year, Aussie welterweight shocked the World when he beat Manny Pacquiao via unanimous decision to become the WBO World Champion. It was the biggest combat sports event Australians had ever seen and as icing on already sweet cake, their man took home one of the most coveted prizes in Boxing, defeating an all-time great in the process and becoming an overnight sensation.
The great news for Aussie fight fans is that we get to do it all over again with Brisbane Mayor, Graham Quirk, confirming today that the Queensland Government will once again be assisting in bringing a huge fight to Brisbane, the much anticipated rematch between ‘The Hornet’ and ‘The Pac Man’. Further details to this point have not been released but T2T Boxing understands that November 12th is the likely date with Suncorp Stadium once again the preferred destination – although Brisbane’s tropical climate will offer up some challenges as to the logistics of this.
